DoD 5015.2-STD Certification

Relativity Records Manager™ (r2m)™ was officially certified as compliant with the US Department of Defense DoD 5015-2 standard in July of 2000. As a result, R2M was placed on the Records Management Association product register as a stand-alone application. In 2003, Relativity Records Manager – Classified Version was certified for the management of classified records in accordance with the DoD 5015.2 standard Chapter 4.

The standard approved, in late 1997 by Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense Anthony Valletta, established mandatory baseline functional requirements for software used by DoD components in the implementation of their records management programs. .

The standard is also known as the Design Criteria Standard for Electronic Records Management Software Applications, DoD 5015.2-STD, signifies the first time a federal agency has developed formal criteria for electronic records management.

It also stipulates required system interfaces, search criteria support essentials and minimum records management requirements based on the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations.
